Pathways: Setting Long-term Goals
The “Pathways: Setting Long-term Goals” course aims to holistically expose students to opportunities after high school. At the beginning of the course, students will be challenged to think about what their goals are after high school and how they might go about attaining these goals.
The course will then expose them to various career paths, colleges, and gap year options. At the end of the course, the students will be tasked to re-asses the goals they initially set. Ultimately, we want the students to leave the course with the groundwork in place to start preparing for life beyond high school.
Participants will foster the following skills:
- Setting long-term goals
- Practicing critical self-awareness
- Speaking publicly
- Providing constructive feedback to peers
- Participating in Socratic seminars (group discussions)
